What is Community Action for Young Refugees?
CAYR does exactly what it says on the tin. The agreed goals of CAYR are:
1. To protect from deportation any individual who qualified, at the time of entering Britain, as an “unaccompanied asylum seeking child”.
2. To seek alteration to regulation to entitle individuals admitted to this country as “unaccompanied asylum seeking children” to automatically receive right of residence.
CAYR seeks to protect all children who came to this country on their own from deportation. CAYR believes that it is quite unconscionable to receive a vulnerable child into this country and in many cases our homes then as soon as we can declare them adults (usually 18 years) we pack their bags and throw them out. We will not be a party to what is child abuse and we will put all our efforts into resisting it.
